It is very good if some floor associates can arrive at 7:30 am. A light
breakfast will be available. However, we understand if you must step away
to attend class. The floor assistant duties are finished around 11:30.
Please let us know what times you will be available.

Judging Guide

This page is for judges and administrators, not for contestants. It is on the
public contest site, so it describes how the system works and how to grade; it
holds nothing a team could use to get ahead. The rules and
instructions are what teams see, and the Scoring section of
the rules is the policy this page puts into practice.

Laptop Setup

This page describes MSOE laptop setup. We assume the laptop starts with an
image that matches the regular (non-departmental) MSOE student setup, but
with the following software installed:

An LTS version of the
JDK. As of Fall 2026,
this would be Java 25, but the specific version is not critical. Please
configure the login so
javac
and
java
are valid commands at the
command prompt.

IntelliJ, community edition

BlueJ

Spyder

Anaconda

Python for command-line users (so
that
python
is a valid command at the command prompt)

Microsoft Visual Studio
